The New Zealand Embassy in Beijing is looking for one enthusiastic person to join its political team as a policy adviser and interpreter. The focus of this position is on supporting New Zealand’s political relationship with China, within which there is an exciting breadth and variety of work.

Kōrero mō te tūranga -About the role
● You’ll undertake research and analysis.
● You’ll provide policy advice and reporting on political developments in China.
● You’ll build up a network of contacts in relevant Chinese organisations, agencies and institutions, and support the Embassy in engaging with these organisations.
● Assist with arranging visit programmes and meetings for New Zealand ministers and officials, and organising events in the Embassy.
● You’ll provide interpretation(Chinese/English and English/Chinese) at official meetings

● You must have a high degree of oral and written proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
● We also prioritise a strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with other team members.
● Strong research and analytical skills.
● Well organised, able to manage a large workload.
