This is a unique opportunity for someone interested in working towards the development of China’s emerging civil society. It is a full-time position at CDB’s office in Beijing. China Development Brief was founded in 1996 and registered in 2017 as an NGO titled the Beijing E-Share Civil Society Information Center. As a Chinese non-profit organization, we serve as a bilingual hub providing information, communication, services and networking to NGOs, foundations, development practitioners, businesses, researchers, and policy makers. Our mission is to promote sustainable development of China`s civil society through information and experience exchange, and by facilitating the free flow of resources and views for NGOs.

岗位职责
Conservation Project Manager of Freshwater provides technical support and leadership to China Freshwater Project by planning and implementing freshwater conservation activities. The Freshwater Manager addresses critical threats to freshwater ecosystem and aquatic biodiversity, fosters cross-site learning among an international conservation community, and supplies multiple supporting teams with freshwater conservation information relevant to watershed conservation planning process. The Freshwater Project Manager develops and implements freshwater conservation strategies, employ a full range of protection methods and tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest in great rivers restoration and watershed management, and implements a variety of strategies to secure public and private support to freshwater conservation priorities. The Freshwater Project Manager coordinates partners and community support, and provides training and consulting required by the multiple partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Performs tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.
Supervises technical, administrative and professional staff with responsibility for performance management, training and development.
Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in freshwater and natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing staff or volunteers.
Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists, and get along with others on the team and supports collaboration.
Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
3-5 years’ experience in freshwater ecosystem protection and watershed restoration, or similar field of natural resource management or equivalent combination of education in river ecology, hydrology, wetlands, fisheries and aquatic biodiversity.
Have passion and willingness to apply science to decision-making and guide activities in freshwater and healthy river.
Have excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely and effectively with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists.

Climate crisis is imminent, however the automobile industry is not transitioning effectively to be compatible with the Paris agreement goal. Gasoline cars still dominate the roads, while the manufacturing supply chain is far from reaching zero emission. Metal resources are also increasingly extracted and wasted by the industry with a linear production model. Our campaign aims to push the global car industry to quit internal combustion engines, decarbonize the supply chain, and shake up the linear production model.
We are looking for a Campaigner who possesses knowledge in at least one of the related sectors, such as automobile, steel, and battery. Having a climate and carbon related background is a plus. The position would need to work closely with a multinational team from Korea, Japan, and Germany. Good communication skills are required.

The Campaigner is responsible for development and implementation of effective and integrated campaign work to achieve Greenpeace's mission.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Resolve to Save Lives is a global health initiative that aims to save millions of lives by reducing preventable deaths from cardiovascular disease and to prevent infectious disease epidemics. Resolve to Save Lives (https://www.resolvetosavelives.org/) is working with a number of key partners including the China National Health Commission, China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), provincial Health Commissions, Provincial CDCs, professional societies, non-government agencies and the WHO to build capacity for and implement a core package of interventions to reduce cardiovascular disease.

Vital Strategies / Resolve to Save Lives is currently seeking a Director – Hypertension Control. This role is based in Beijing or Jinan and reports to the China Country Director. The successful candidate will work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, contributing to a large-scale effort to save millions of lives from cardiovascular disease. They will be responsible for: guiding a robust hypertension control strategy in collaboration with national and provincial partners; managing a range of hypertension control projects with different partners to ensure successful implementation and impact; and providing technical support and tools development, while ensuring shared learning concerning hypertension control and primary care.
Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Director - Hypertension Control, China will perform the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Promote and disseminate Resolve to Save Lives’ core approaches in hypertension control and primary healthcare system reinforcement, including protocol development, professional training, monitoring drug supply, establishing task sharing, strengthening patient centered care, and using health information systems for quality improvement.
- Collaborate with the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease to convene a hypertension control advisory group, engaging the advisory group in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program.
- Facilitate internal and external expertise to identify and address evidence gaps related to hypertension and primary care systems, including but not limited to research question prioritization, working with partners to develop research plans and protocols, and consolidating and disseminating evidence.
Project Management
- Work with Resolve to Save Lives’ global team and multiple partners in China to initiate, develop, finalize, and roll out a hypertension control program fit to the China context. Develop monitoring tools and consolidate progress across partners on a regular basis through project updates and reports
- Work to ensure projects remain on-track, meeting targets and deliverables
- Identify best practices and work with the China office leadership and hypertension team to incorporate best practices into the Resolve hypertension strategy
Technical Support
- Collaborate and coordinate with the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease, China CDC, provincial CDCs, and other organizations to produce hypertension related factsheets, reports, articles, and other tools as needed.
- Provide technical assistance to partners at provincial or local levels on hypertension related issues.
- Present hypertension related data, program experience and lessons learned at national and international conferences.
Networking & Communication
- Liaise and coordinate with other Resolve to Save Lives team members and Vital Strategies teams.
- Organize and participate in meetings with National Health Commission, other government and non-government agencies, and international and national partners involved in hypertension related projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education requirements: Master’s degree in public health, medicine, or related field. Doctorate degree is desirable.
Experience requirements:
- Minimum 15 years’ work experience in public health, focusing on chronic disease prevention, management, surveillance, and evaluation. Experience in medicine is desirable.
- At least 8 years’ experience in managing projects.
- Experience working in cardiovascular diseases is desirable.

NRDC is seeking a Staff Attorney to work with the Environmental Law and Governance (ELP) team in our Beijing office, to promote China’s environmental and climate laws and governance in support of NRDC’s strategic goals of greening China and improving public health. The Staff Attorney will be based in Beijing and a member of the China Program. He/she shall report to the Director of China ELP.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to improve environmental and climate laws and governance in China.
Research and advocate for environmental and climate policy and laws, regulations, compliance mechanisms; write papers and blogs, organize events, get in contact and have conversations with policy makers, etc.
Work with project partners on the development of China’s environmental legislation and implementation and provide technical assistance to Chinese stakeholders through the introduction of international experience and the assessment of their possible implementation to China.
Maintain strong connections and build ties with project partners and contacts in government, academia, NGOs, and other areas.
Represent NRDC in events such as conferences, press interviews, and prepare other communication materials.
Carry out project monitoring and evaluation, including preparing reports.
Assist in writing and editing of grant proposals, project progress reports and other project documents.
