Qantas will stop flying in and out of mainland China due to travel bans imposed amid the outbreak of deadly coronavirus.
Australia's national carrier announced on Saturday they would suspend their two direct services to mainland China - Sydney to Beijing and Sydney to Shanghai - from Sunday February 9 until March 29, 2020.
In a statement, Qantas said the pause in services reflected the impact of international travel bans on crew logistics across the broader network.

'This follows entry restrictions imposed by countries including Singapore and the United States, which impact the movement of crew who work across the Qantas International network,' Qantas said.
'These entry restrictions pose significant logistical challenges for rostering crew to operate mainland China services, leading to the need to temporarily suspend these flights.
'Qantas is liaising closely with the Australian Government on the impact of these changes to citizens currently in mainland China, and continues to take advice from the World Health Organisation and Australia's Chief Medical Officer regarding the Coronavirus in its decision-making.'
The airline said the suspension may be brought forward if demand levels or other factors change.
The concluding date of the suspension is also subject to change, Qantas said.
Customers who have flights booked with the airline during the suspended period will be contacted by Qantas.
There are no changes to Qantas' Hong Kong services as they are not affected by the travel restrictions.
