Summer, a 4th year student, who exchanged to University of Florida two years ago, talked about American professors had,
“Previously, I was always afraid of not being perfect, because of my Chinese advisor’s criticism. He would always compare you with others. But in the U.S., professors don’t do this. If you don’t do well, the professor believes that is your current capacity, and will ask, ‘How can I help you improve as much as possible?’ So, after such a switch for me, I would submit my assignment as is. I would not feel so guilty if I didn’t do very well.”
