This tea cup/guinomi was been wheel thrown in Taiwan. I etched a cherry blossom motif into one side of the cup. On the other side I impressed a groove that was designed to dig your fingers in as you drink.
The cup was given a shino glaze and then woodfired in the Taiwanese mountains. The natural wood ash melted with the glaze to produce a one off unique finish.
My seal is stamped into the side of the pot.
The woodfiring process is intense and many pots do not come out of that process either surviving or with an attractive finish. This one did!
