The Job Hunt: Norwegian Amusement Park, Copy Editor for ChinAfrica, Film Distributor, Fitness Trainer

Who wants to spend their Beijing days locked up in a boring, dead-end job, with horrible colleagues you'd rather never see again? As our beloved reader, you should know that you don't have to submit yourself to such an unbearable life of sadness. Instead, take a look below at the best of our job classifieds.

Global Business Development and Sales for an "International Culture Institute"
Full time or part time depending on your availability, this growing "international culture center" is hoping to "forge relationships with businesses across the globe for corporate training and other business services." They're looking for staff (foreign or Chinese) to fill sales and marketing positions in Beijing with strong potential to grow with the company. They're not looking for people with a particular degree, but you must be "ambitious" and interested in China's growing influence in the world and the Belt and Road Initiative. They will provide all the training necessary for success in the position. Part of the job will be working on their websites redesign, helping with content writing, SEO, and digital marketing. Their website is run through a CMS so web development skills are not required, but could put you ahead of the pack.

Copy Editor of ChinAfrica
If I didn't already have the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD, WORKING FOR THE BEIJINGER, I would want this one: A copy editor for ChinAfrica will write, rewrite, edit and polish stories relating to China and Africa's growing ties, conduct interviews and research, help plan editorial content, and have a hand in layout design and social media work. The right candidate is a native English speaker with a degree in journalism or communications, three years of print media experience, and an awareness of Chinese current events.

Human Resources Position for Norwegian Amusement Park
"Thomas Tivoli is a traveling amusement park in Norway that [has been] owned and managed by the same family for 5 generations." Why these guys are seeking a human resources specialist in Beijing, we're not sure. It seems they want someone to move to Norway and help them "improve their business" as they travel to a new location in Norway each week. The job is mostly writing and compiling instruction manuals for the rides and training manuals for new staff, as well as recruiting and retaining said staff. But be warned: They say explicitly, "This job is not for sissies. For the correct person, it is fun, demanding, different, and awarding." (We assume they mean "rewarding.")

Overseas Distributor for Shao Studio
If you love films, and China, and especially Chinese films, this is a great opportunity to meet and nurture the next generation of great filmmakers. Shao Studio is "an international patron of online film directors dedicated to supporting young talented directors all over the world and offering them a platform for investment and patronage, brand promotion, and global commercialization." The parent company consists of Shao New Media, Sfilmmaker Academy, and Sfilmmaker Film Festival Registration Platform. The job is translation-heavy, and involves a lot of data hoarding and analysis (e.g. knowing who's who, who's working with whom, investment, promotion, and box office numbers worldwide).

Fitness Trainer
Pretty basic here: train people, especially after work. The right candidate must have "a working knowledge of human anatomy and the concepts of functional exercise, basic nutrition and fundamental principles of exercise science; the ability to design and execute individual and small group exercise fitness programs, tailored to the needs and attainable goals of the individual, apparently healthy client, in a safe and effective way." You must be a certified and experienced personal trainer for this position. Not clear if it's a typo, but they claim your hours would just be "6pm to 8pm, Monday to Thursday." I guess you can spend all the free time you'll have working out, probably for free in whichever gym this is.
