Are you up on what the hundreds of millions of Chinese netizens are talking about? Take a moment and get the rundown of what's hot, what's trending, and what's drawing the most buzz on the Chinese blogosphere.

Graders for the gaokao, China's national college entrance examinations, recently shared the most wacky essays they came across from students in Jiangsu Province.

"Begging on my knees for a zero" was the title of one essay, which was left blank, according to one grader.

However, as per exam rules, the student was awarded one point for providing a title.

Another student took to the axiom "a picture is worth a thousand words" to heart and drew a crying emoticon, for which he  was also given a point.

Expected to expound on this year's essay topic "forever young," other students borrowed from the plot of the 2013 blockbuster film So Young.

One exam marker said he had graded hundreds of papers retelling the movie's story. "Some chose to use the film in other ways, but none were successful since they couldn't get past the story itself," he added.

Not all students blew off the essay on this year's gaokao. One student delved into the theme by describing the weariness on his aging parents' faces and how they lit up with passion when they flip through the books of their youth.
